As elected officials, it’s not in our job description to control and monitor communications from the other party. Now, I can’t send a newsletter or share my thoughts on social media without the approval of the Democrats. Mass communications is no longer a nonpartisan operation.
State Rep. Ken Borton on Friday criticized Democrat-sponsored proposals that would repeal health, safety, and reporting standards for abortion clinics, pay for elective abortions with taxpayer funds, eliminate informed consent requirements, and permit partial-birth abortion – an extremely unpopular late-term abortion procedure.
“Democrats in Michigan are undermining public education and disregarding what’s best for our students,” said Borton, R-Gaylord. “I’ve discussed this with other parents in Northern Michigan who simply want to ensure their kids have access to the best possible education that gives them the knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in life. That is my priority. This plan strips away much-needed accountability in our schools while lending a hand to union bosses.”
