Rep. Glenn will continue important work on Michigan state budget committee during 2021-22 session

Rep. Annette Glenn, R-Midland, today was appointed to lead an important panel of the Michigan House Appropriations Committee focused on energy, the Great Lakes and the environment.

“This is a leadership role that will help me continue the fight to improve Michigan’s future,” Glenn said. “I will continue to be focused on dam restoration and repair, energy development and protecting our natural resources through smart investments in our state budget. This is an exciting challenge and I look forward to serving our community from this key position.”

Glenn was appointed by Speaker Jason Wentworth to chair the Appropriations subcommittee on the Environment, Great Lakes and Energy for the House’s 2021-22 session. She also will serve on as vice chair of the Appropriations subcommittee for School Aid.

Glenn will be a member on budget subcommittees devoted to Health and Human Services, and Military and Veterans Affairs and State Police. She also will serve on the full Appropriations Committee.

“Our state budget affects the daily lives of Michiganders in countless ways,” Glenn said. “I will work tirelessly to ensure our budget reflects the shared priorities of Midland and Bay county families – supporting education, resources to help families, public safety and other important initiatives.”

Glenn is entering her second term in the Michigan House. She also served on the Appropriations Committee during the Legislature’s 2019-2020 session.
