RELEASE|April 30, 2025

State Rep. Alicia St. Germaine, R-Harrison Township, today led the House in adopting House Resolution 78 in support of President Trump’s announcement establishing a new fighter mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

The mission brings the advanced F-15EX Eagle II aircraft to Selfridge, replacing the outgoing A-10 Thunderbolt fleet and securing the future of the historic base.

“Selfridge has been a vital asset not only to Macomb County, but to the entire state of Michigan,” said St. Germaine. “It provides thousands of good-paying jobs, bolsters our regional economy, and plays a crucial role in our national defense. The new fighter mission reflects the unwavering support from the local community and represents a major investment in Michigan’s military.

“I’m honored to present this House resolution celebrating a new chapter for Selfridge,” said St. Germaine. “This decision strengthens our armed forces, supports our military families, and ensures Michigan remains at the forefront of America’s airpower. Our community has fought hard for this moment, and we thank President Trump for his leadership in making it a reality and for his commitment to protecting Michigan and our nation.”
