After major power outages swept the state in recent weeks, state Rep. Mark Tisdel, of Rochester Hills, today issued the following statement:
“Recent storm-induced power outages should be a wake-up call to leaders in the public and private sectors. In Greater Rochester alone, thousands of homes and businesses lost power. Like a flash of lightning, the outages shed a brief but blinding light on the need to strengthen Michigan’s electric grid. I hope the power companies — including DTE Energy, which supplies electricity to Greater Rochester — will answer residents’ pressing questions and, in partnership with state government, identify and take steps to make the grid more resistant to outages and reliable for users.”
