State Rep. Jason Woolford, R-Howell, attended the opening day of the 2025-2026 legislative session at the Michigan House of Representatives on Wednesday, Jan. 8. He was seated next to Pastor Lorenzo Sewell who delivered the invocation. Sewell, of Detroit, hosted President Trump at his church in 2024.

Rep. Meerman sworn in for fourth term

Rep. Meerman was sworn into office for his fourth term today. Michigan’s 103rd legislative term began following today’s swearing-in ceremony.

The returning legislator is a lifelong resident of the 89th House District and previously served as a Polkton Township Trustee. He was first elected to the Michigan House in November 2018.
